I'm smart. I get it. I'm hard working. I deliver.
Web Development: I'm developing my skills in both design and coding. My immediate goals are to work more with Django/Python, and to pick up Javascript and Ajax.
Entrepreneurism: I thoroughly enjoy the thrill (read: stress) of thinking outside the cube to work toward a semi-tangible goal with deadlines set upon ourselves: email/chat/phone conversations at 2AM "because I just thought of something;" forgetting that food, sleep, and the rest of the world exist because "I just need another hour to finish this" even though I've used that excuse four times in the last four hours; and that feeling of enlightenment when Things Just Work.
Sustainability: I definitely appreciate companies who push the green envelope, and I think we individuals can all try our best in our daily lives. Many think it is just a trend that will fade away, but this is one trend the Earth (and its inhabitants!) can benefit from.
"Translator": I translate the clients' words into what they actually want.
• Original: "Can we move this gizmo to the top [of the page] and have it like a list?"
• Translation: "I don't like how this menu is stationary on this side of the page. Let's move it to the top and enable a drop-down style menu."
"Magician": I help our clients find solutions to most software and hardware issues, usually showing/creating shortcuts to cut down the number of clicks. On multiple occasions, I pull out white rabbits from computers; more often than not they turn out to be mice or rams.
• "It works now! How did you do that? What did you just do?"
"Plastic Surgeon": I provide facelifts and partial to full reconstruction of websites.
"Mechanic": I work under the hood of our websites to keep it fueled with updated content and our SharePoint engine well-oiled with bug-free workflows.
